Difficulty Rating:
3 out of 5
Food/fluid stops:
At the start there is a Dunkin Donuts and CVS on the next block on Halstead (to the right with your back to the train station). Suggest everyone takes care of their needs here, because next scheduled pit is in 19 miles, with few other options.
Mile 18.9 -- Tony’s Deli. .3 miles off the route, but directions are shown on the cue sheet: At mile 18.9, make a left at the T intersection of Cat Ridge Road and Valley Road. In .2 miles turn right onto Palmer Hill road. Tony’s Deli is .1 on the right. There is one bathroom and iIndoor seating. To get back on the route, retrace back .1 mile on Palmer Hill and make left onto Valley Road. Tony’s is a good place to eat, but it’s very early on the ride.
Mile 20.2 – Renaldi’s Deli on left. Food, outdoor seating, but NO BATHROOMS.
Mile 28.9 -- Finch’s Country Store at the intersection of Banksville Ave and Bedford/Banksville Road. Friendly; indoor and outdoor seating; bathroom. NOTE: This is probably the only bathroom after Tony’s and there are no bathrooms or food places for another 10 miles. Therefore, if you don’t stop for a pit at Tony’s you will be riding almost 30 miles without finding any pit or food stops.
Mile 39.6 -- Glenville Café on the right, just before the light and the left turn to stay on Glenville Street. A bike shop is adjacent to the café.
