Scenic, easy/breazy ride up the (paved) North & South County rail trail (formerly the New York Central & Putnam rail lines). Our turning point and prelude to the finish, also our pièce de résistance, will be crossing the Croton reservior twice, traveling lakeside, and following the Croton gorge as that river flows down to the Hudson.

Finish with lunch in Ossining, at either an old deli with indoor seating on Main St or at the Boathouse Cafe on the Hudson River. Then MetroNorth return to Manhattan.

Some climbing towards end getting out of the gorge. Steady riding, few crossroads. Shared recreational path most of the way, on paved asphalt; some hardpack and rough paving. [NOTE: Use caution on the rail trails, especially in clement weather, as they are popular.]
