Ride starts at Dana Discovery Center at the top of Central Park. Exterior access to restrooms, which open by 8:00 a.m.
This ride starts out with some real urban riding, but almost all of it is on bike lanes. That means lots of traffic lights and some broken glass, as well as the occasional pedestrian encounter. But you get the pleasure of crossing the High Bridge. It's a very easy way out of Manhattan and through the Bronx without scary traffic or dangerous left turns. The route then takes a new version of the back way into Scarsdale for lunch at Lange's Deli. On the return, after Scarsdale Rd., take the Bronx River Greenway to avoid extremely rough pavement on Parkview. Ride ends at the subway in order to keep it short, but you can ride all the way back to have a 45-mile ride.
