This is a back way into Scarsdale, taking you past the mansions of the 2%. First you'll get in some urban riding thru the Bronx, then go up a shady climb and down thru Bronxville. Pretty roads take you past ever bigger mansions by the time you get to Scarsdale. (These are not "estates", but they are "properties".) Have lunch at the Metro Diner. The return takes you up Palmer and down the South County Trailway to Van Cortlandt Park. Before you hop on the subway, go up Broadway a couple of blocks to pick up a sweet treat from Lloyd's Carrot Cake and watch the cricket match in the park while you eat. If you still have energy you can add 10 miles or so by cycling the rest of the way home across the Broadway Bridge.
The 2022 C-SIG Group 2 did this route for its final ride, rather than the original graduation ride, because of the extreme heat wave. We wanted a short, shady route.
